The Galleri test is a multi-cancer early detection test that detects more than 50 types of cancer, many of which are not commonly screened for today, through a simple blood draw. The Galleri test does not diagnose cancer and not all cancers may be detected in the blood.
The Galleri test looks for signals present in the blood that may be associated with cancer at the time of your blood draw. If a cancer signal is detected, Galleri results can point to where in the body the cancer is coming from to help your healthcare provider guide next steps.
The Galleri test is recommended for use in adults with an elevated risk for cancer, such as those aged 50 or older.
The Galleri test is intended to be used in addition to, and not replace, other cancer screening tests your healthcare provider recommends.
Family history is only one of many risk factors associated with cancer development. These risk factors include eating habits, lifestyle, living or working environments, genetics, and many others.1 Talk to your healthcare provider to determine whether the Galleri test is right for you.

The cost of the Galleri test may vary depending on the practice setting and healthcare provider that orders your test. The list price for Galleri is $949. You may be able to use pre-tax dollars in your flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA) to pay for the Galleri test. Check with your FSA/HSA account administrator or insurance company to determine eligibility.

The Galleri test is gaining coverage with payers, but as the test is new to the market and represents significant innovation in cancer screening, not all insurers are covering the Galleri test. Patients may elect to pay for the test themselves and/or check with their insurer for coverage before requesting the test.

As each insurance company creates their own criteria for coverage of tests, you may need to work with your healthcare provider and your insurance company to obtain coverage of further diagnostic testing.
Visit the blood draw locator to either find a partner lab near you and contact them to schedule an appointment or determine if the location allows walk-ins. You can also schedule an appointment at your home, office, or location of choice. You will need a copy of your completed test request form and an unopened Galleri specimen collection kit for your blood draw.
Once you receive your collection kit, please do not break the quality seal on it. The collection kit should be opened by the trained practitioner who draws your blood sample. Make sure you store it at room temperature until your blood draw appointment. The contents are sensitive to extreme temperatures. For example, avoid storing your collection kit in the trunk of your car for long periods of time.
The trained practitioner who draws your blood will pack and ship your sample back to the GRAIL laboratory for processing.
No preparation or fasting is required for the Galleri test.
Approximately 1.5 tablespoons (or about 20 mL) of blood in two tubes typically from a vein in your arm.

If you are unable to reach your healthcare provider or require further assistance, please contact GRAIL Customer Service by filling out a support request or calling 833−694−2553.
Your result should be available to your healthcare provider within 10 business days (Mon — Fri excluding holidays) from the time it is received at the GRAIL laboratory. Your sample will arrive at the lab 1 to 2 business days after your blood draw.
This means that there is a suspicion of cancer but not a diagnosis of cancer. The Galleri test can point to where in the body the cancer is coming from to help your healthcare provider guide next steps. Your healthcare provider will discuss appropriate follow-up testing to confirm if cancer is present.
This means that no cancer signal was found. However, not all cancers can be detected by the Galleri test. Continue with all routine screening tests that your healthcare provider recommends. Missing routine screenings or ignoring symptoms can lead to a delayed diagnosis of cancer.
The Galleri test looks for a shared cancer signal across more than 50 types of cancer, and not all cancers may be detected in the blood. Recommended routine cancer screening tests such as colonoscopy or mammograms are commonly used and have been shown to reduce cancer deaths. The Galleri test is intended to be used in addition to and not replace these tests and can help maximize the benefits of early cancer detection. Missing recommended screening or ignoring symptoms could lead to a delayed diagnosis of cancer. Ask your healthcare provider about what cancer screening tests are right for you.
This means there is a suspicion of cancer. Additional tests ordered by your healthcare provider are needed to confirm if cancer is present which may include blood work or imaging.
The test does not measure your genetic risk of developing cancer in the future and is instead looking for the presence of cancer at the time your blood is drawn. You may develop cancer in the future. Your healthcare provider is the best person to determine when to take the Galleri test again as apart of your routine screening based on any underlying risk factors.
All results are automatically shared with the provider who ordered the test.
