Cancer Signal Detected with a Cancer Signal Origin for lymphoma

“I was one of the earliest-stage patients that he's treated.” - Cindy

Cindy’s Experience with the Galleri test

[Cindy] My name is Cindy and this is my story with Galleri.

I've been married for 30 years, have three children and two grandbabies. Our Cuban culture is all about family, staying close together, and food.

[Cindy’s husband] I was doing a grill here at my house. It was actually my normal Friday evening. And the next morning on Saturday, I woke up with my left side of my neck swollen.

I went and saw my doctor and he was very concerned, and we found out that they were cancerous.

[Cindy] When my husband got diagnosed, I started doing research and just reading books and reading books during all his therapy and all his treatment that he was going through. And then I started learning about cancer screenings that were out there.

After my husband got treatment, I wanted to be proactive. So we went to the doctor and while we were there, he mentioned to us about the Galleri test and about how it was able to detect 50 different types of cancers and how it can get it at a very early stage.

And my husband just turned to me and he said,

Why don't you do it?

And I looked at him and I said, For what? You know, like I feel fine. And my husband's like, just do it. And I said, okay, I'll do it.

It was a blood test and a few weeks later the doctor told us that I had a cancer signal that was coming up in the test.

And he told me, I need for you to go see a hematologist right away.

And then shortly after, I was confirmed with a positive biopsy that I had cancer, that I had lymphoma.

The disease—I don't even like to call it cancer—it's a little bit aggressive, so a lot of times people won't discover it until a later stage.

“So it's very rare to get it in the beginning stages because there's no side effects.”

I went to a doctor that specializes in my cancer, and he told me that I was one of the earliest-stage patients that he's treated.

I was one of the earliest-stage patients that he's treated.

I'm so happy that I'm able to still be with my family, still be strong, still be able to be around for my grandkids.

[Cindy’s husband] Like I told Cindy, I said,

This whole journey, it's not about us. It's about sharing this with others so that others can benefit from it.
El Galleri test hizo toda la diferencia. Gracias, Galleri.

Based on a clinical study of people ages 50 to 79 around 1% are expected to receive a Cancer Signal Detected result, which includes a predicted Cancer Signal Origin. After diagnostic evaluation, around 62% of these people are expected to have a confirmed cancer diagnosis.

The overall sensitivity in study participants with liver/bile duct cancer was 93.5% (100% for stage I, 70.0% stage II, 100% stage III, 100% stage IV).

The Galleri test is recommended for use in adults with an elevated risk for cancer, such as those age 50 or older. The test does not detect all cancers and should be used in addition to routine cancer screening tests recommended by a healthcare provider. The Galleri test is intended to detect cancer signals and predict where in the body the cancer signal is located. Use of the test is not recommended in individuals who are pregnant, 21 years old or younger, or undergoing active cancer treatment.

Results should be interpreted by a healthcare provider in the context of medical history, clinical signs, and symptoms. A test result of No Cancer Signal Detected does not rule out cancer. A test result of Cancer Signal Detected requires confirmatory diagnostic evaluation by medically established procedures (e.g., imaging) to confirm cancer.

If cancer is not confirmed with further testing, it could mean that cancer is not present or testing was insufficient to detect cancer, including due to the cancer being located in a different part of the body. False positive (a cancer signal detected when cancer is not present) and false negative (a cancer signal not detected when cancer is present) test results do occur. Rx only.

The GRAIL clinical laboratory is certified under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA) and accredited by the College of American Pathologists. The Galleri test was developed — and its performance characteristics were determined — by GRAIL. The Galleri test has not been cleared or approved by the Food and Drug Administration. The GRAIL clinical laboratory is regulated under CLIA to perform high-complexity testing. The Galleri test is intended for clinical purposes
